My younger brother, Mike, married the girl of his dreams, in the beautiful city of Chicago.
It was a day filled with love and happiness and the joining of two special families.
It is always such a treat to photograph family, and this gorgeous couple made it all so effortless.
Kibbs - you were the most radiant bride!! You were also so relaxed and it was just lovely to spend the morning getting ready with you and the girls.
It was a stunning wedding and the planning and attention to detail was amazing.
What was so lovely, was the subtle South African details incorporated into the decor - the proteas in the bouquets and the floral arrangements, the touch of animal print and the handmade elephant cake toppers.
Mike added a touch of African culture by presenting Kimberly's father with Lobola, in the form of helium balloon cows. This was a lovely, light hearted moment as he started his speech.
The whole day was a magical celebration!!
Being his sister and a photographer, this is my interpretation of the day.
We cannot wait to see the official wedding photographs.
On the first Saturday in May, two of my closest friends said "I DO" in Bali.
Mahatma House in Canggu, was the most idyllic venue and as guests, we all felt so spoilt to be a part of something so special.
The venue, the decor, the food, the attention to detail - nothing could be faulted!
It was a superb celebration.
Luckily, the grey clouds that threatened to cause havoc on the alfresco event, were blown away just before the ceremony began - phew!
I have known Fordy and Saf for years and am so lucky to call them friends.
They are, truly, two of my favourite people.
They met, in an elevator in Lan Kwai Fong, when Saf was visiting H.K from Singapore - can someone say, fate??!
Saf, you were such an exquisite bride and so relaxed! It was a real joy to watch you walk down the aisle.
Fordy, that huge smile never left your face all day....one of the proudest grooms I have ever seen.
I loved everything!!
Here is my take on their most special day... xxx
Robs and I formed a close friendship, while working as fashion buyers, in Cape Town.
She married George and they moved back to our mutual hometown, Durban soon after I made the move to Hong Kong.
Luckily, this means everytime I come home to visit family, I am able to spend some quality time with her and her adorable daughter, Sophia.
She is the most delightful little girl and has beautiful eyes and lashes to die for!
She will no doubt grow up to be as gorgeous and as stylish as her mom!
Oh what a lucky fish!!
There is such joy, in being able to photograph a special friend and her gorgeous little girl.
Nicole and I have been close friends for 20 years!
We have shared so many happy moments together, so this was one more, to add to the memory box.
I was able to spend a whole morning with Nicole and her adorable Annabel.
Both of them are a real treat, to have in front on my lens!
Love you both lots!!
It's always special to spend time with family, and even better, when you can record precious moments.
Dominique (4) was my adorable flower girl at our wedding six months ago and her
little sister, Eva (2), is equally delightful.
I was fortunate enough to be able to fly to Cape Town, this past weekend, to spend time with them.
We were so lucky with the weather! Cape Town really is one of the most beautiful cities in the world!
We met at a relaxed, alfresco restaurant and enjoyed a delicious lunch together.
It was a treat to be able to photograph these gorgeous little girls and their parents, just "being themselves".
I hope these will serve as wonderful memories in years to come! They certainly will for me.
I just so look forward to watching them grow up.
What a difference a year makes!!
I was on holiday when Paddy was born last year, so I only met him when he was 6 weeks old...
Can't believe how tiny he was then, and how much he's grown in the last 12 months.
He is honestly one of my favorite little people! He has the sunniest disposition and is always smiling!!
I thought it only fitting that we celebrate his first birthday with a cake smash.
It is always so interesting to see how children react to cake being put in front of them...some literally shove their faces right in it, some are super reluctant and others are outright terrified!
I was impressed with Paddy's reservation, gently nibbling small pieces - he wasn't terribly keen on having cake smeared all over his face!
Just love him!
Over the weekend, the lovely Brian Campbell, from Secret Ingredient, celebrated his birthday in quintessential British style - picnic, preppy attire & lawn games. As usual, the food (all from Secret Ingredient) was sublime!
This city never ceases to amaze me...just when I think I've been everywhere, I arrive at a new destination and am completely blown away. Victoria Peak is a popular tourist hot spot and I've done plenty of hikes up to take in the view. I have never been all the way to the top though...The gardens, the view, the lush greenery are all simply amazing! What a perfect spot for a picnic, a glass of bubbles and a game of croquet!
Thanks for an amazing afternoon Brian! xxx
I had no idea, when I arrived in Hong Kong, that within a couple of weeks, I was destined to meet the love of my life...
